About Horizon West
Horizon West is Central Florida's fastest-growing master-planned community, spanning approximately 32 square miles across southwestern Orange County. Originally adopted as a planned development in 1995, this visionary community has grown from rural farmland into a thriving residential area of over 70,000 residents, with projections to eventually house more than 100,000 people across its interconnected villages and town center.
Designed around New Urbanism principles inspired by garden city planning, Horizon West is organized into five distinct mixed-use villages — Bridgewater, Lakeside Village, Hickory Nut, Ovation, and Seidel — plus a central Town Center anchored by the vibrant Hamlin district. Each village features its own commercial center, parks, schools, and green spaces, all connected by more than 24 miles of trails and pathways that encourage walking, biking, and outdoor recreation.
What sets Horizon West apart from other Central Florida communities is its intentional design. Rather than sprawling subdivisions, residents enjoy a village-style layout where schools, shops, and restaurants are woven into neighborhood life. The community's proximity to Walt Disney World (5 to 15 minutes from the western entrance), the Florida Turnpike, and major employment corridors in Orlando makes it an ideal choice for families, professionals, and anyone seeking modern homes with resort-caliber amenities in one of the state's most dynamic growth areas.
